I sometimes state that “A nation is it’s land and its people.” I use this as a way to explain that the land of the nation should be owned by the nation in conjunction with the people. Thus, foreign ownership of land is not acceptable. They have their own land on which to operate and to own. They can look after their population and land and we can look after our land and people.
Then we can have a conundrum. Who has the power? The nation or the people? What if a group learns to usurp the power of the state? What if the control of the nation falls into foreign hands? What if foreign influences lead the nation astray?
Let us consider a formal definition and some descriptions:
- A state is a nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government.
- State in political science refers to a concentration of authority based on territorial control, population, and government . According to Weber, a state is an entity having monopoly over the use of violence in a given territory.
- The State is the core element of Political Science. It is a natural and necessary human association. Though the term State is very old but it is an ever-evolving concept. It is considered as the highest form of association among all social and political groups and institutions. Without it man’s life is incomplete as it provides the desirable conditions for the self development of the individual. The State is prior to the individual because every man is naturally a social and political being. As the father of Political Science Greek philosopher Aristotle declares in his classic book — Politics that every man is a social and political animal. To him, ‘To live in the State and to be a man are identical, for whoever is not a member of the State is either a God or a beast.’ Without law and order man would be the worst of beings. Only in the State does the individual really become a human being. Physical force is an indispensable element of the state to coerce the anti-social behaviour. Thus the concept of State represents the entire community encompassing all dimensions of human life at large. (Divyasha, Associate Professor and Chair)
So the state is greater than the individual. The individual must comply with the edict of the state. So, what voice does the individual have in the decision making process of the state? States tend to go to war without referendum nor vote. My mother said she went off to London to protest against going to Iraq. The government and whoever controls the politicians simply ignored the million people that marched on the city. The state goes to war without consulting the people. So, at what stage does the ‘state’ simply ignore the wishes and well being of the people? I often state that when there is one lobbyist in parliament, that lobbyist has more power than all the voters. I also point out that if we voted you as one of our politicians, you would have no say in the policies of your party. You would have to ‘tow the party line’. Who then does get to control the policies and decision making of a political party? This is how the ‘leftists’ do it. They get in at every level of the party with their pre-decided concepts and needle and push their agenda in both political parties and in all places that they can influence. EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVESMr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman’s request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following “Current Communist Goals,” which she identifies as an excerpt from “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen:
CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev’s promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture–education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [“]united force[“] to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court /
So the goal of Communists is not to obtain power through the democratic process but by perverting the procedures of the state.
So we all belong to a state, but we can be a powerless individual within that state. So the control system of the state is important. The state needs to keep order and uses various means to do so. There is an expectation that the people generally follow an appropriate set of behaviors. The state then has laws which must be obeyed. Punishments are meted out to those that are caught and proven to be disobeying the laws. Interestingly, all the laws of a nation state are negative: “Don’t do this.” and “Don’t do that.” There are no laws compelling people to ‘do the right thing’.The laws run along the basis of the ‘Laws of Moses’. You might like to read some the speeches of Moses, by delving randomly into Deuteronomy. [Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Jewish Torah and of the Bible’s Old Testament. When translated from the Greek Septuagint, the word “Deuteronomy” means “second law”. Deuteronomy is Moses’ dictating what he says are God’s laws.] Jesus brought along a ‘New Covenant’ which supersedes the Old Testament. Here are some examples of the ‘Law of God’ as given by Moses. You can see why Jesus brought a ‘New Covenant’. However, the Jewish religion still reveres Moses and operates from the old testament.
The Stubborn and Rebellious Son.
Moses’ ‘Laws of God’ in Deuteronomy 21:18
If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not listen to his father or mother, and will not listen to them even though they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders at the gate* of his home city, where they shall say to the elders of the city, “This son of ours is a stubborn and rebellious fellow who will not listen to us; he is a glutton and a drunkard.” Then all his fellow citizens shall stone him to death. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel will hear and be afraid.
‘Elders at the gate’ refers to the court hearings near the gate of the city.

Moses’ ‘Laws of God’ in Deuteronomy 21:10
When you go out to war against your enemies and the LORD, your God, delivers them into your power, so that you take captives, if you see a beautiful woman among the captives and become so enamored of her that you wish to have her as a wife, and so you take her home to your house, she must shave her head,* cut her nails, lay aside her captive’s garb, and stay in your house, mourning her father and mother for a full month. After that, you may come to her, and you shall be her husband and she shall be your wife. If later on you lose your liking for her, you shall give her her freedom, if she wishes it; you must not sell her for money. Do not enslave her, since you have violated her.
If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the LORD gives you is found doing evil in the eyes of the LORD your God in violation of his covenant, and contrary to my command has worshiped other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or the moon or the stars of the sky, and this has been brought to your attention, then you must investigate it thoroughly. If it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, take the man or woman who has done this evil deed to your city gate and stone that person to death.

He does not specify what is evil.
If a man is discovered lying with a woman who is married to another, they both shall die, the man who was lying with the woman as well as the woman. Thus shall you purge the evil from Israel.

He refers to ‘land you enter and possess’. He appears to sanction the taking of land from others. So you can steal from other religions and ethnicities but not from your own people.
Individual Responsibility.
Moses’ instruction at Deuteronomy 24:16
Parents shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their parents; only for one’s own crime shall a person be put to death.
So, Moses tended to make laws mostly saying what you could not do. Thus society became very ‘legalistic’. If there is no rule, then and act was acceptable. Self interest was normal procedure. Jesus described the people as ‘heard of heart’. There was no requirement for ‘common decency’. In the modern state, we have the same issue. We have become legalistic. We don’t expect the justice system to impart justice. People go to court if they think they can ‘make a quid’ out of doing so. People think an action is acceptable if there is no law about it or if they think they can ‘get away with it’. The state uses an ever growing list of laws that are negative to control behaviour backed up with punishments for those that are caught. Religion, on the other hand tends to give guidelines. It does not use prisons or fines. I offers heaven to the good and hell to the bad.
We have become used to the idea that each person belongs to a state. Statelessness is an alien concept in modern times. In theory, a person could be stateless. Perhaps they could be born in a dinghy in the ocean or in a forest in ‘no man’s land’. However, it is clearly exceptionally difficult to be stateless. A person can also claim not to be subject of a state. Self-described “sovereign citizens” see themselves as answerable only to their particular interpretation of the common law and as not subject to any government statutes or proceedings. Many members of the sovereign citizen movement believe that the United States government is illegitimate.[12] Those on the side of government usually describe them as ‘extremists, or might even go as far as calling them: “domestic terrorists”.
Statism has become normalized in our existence to the extent that we never question it. You will treat is as natural to follow the dictates and customers of your state. However, if you were born into an oppressive state, why do you have to follow the oppressive rules of the state into which you were born? Because of the location of your mother at time of your birth, the nation-state assumes control over you without you granting it the permission to do so.
Similar to living off the grid, you’re not supposed to know this one because then the corrupt nation-states of the world would have less control over you. Nietzsche famously said:
“State is the name of the coldest of all cold monsters. Coldly it lies; and this lie slips from its mouth: ‘I, the state, am the people.’”
Thus, the state is its land and its people. But that definision of the state does not define the role of the people and the relationship of the people to the state. If your state does bad things, you are effectively powerless to do anything about it. They may fool you into thinking that you have a say by giving you a vote, but if both parties support the debt-banking system (usury) and every war advertised by the news corporation collusion, your vote is worth ‘jack shit’. If you have lobbyists and lobby groups, any one lobbyist has more power than all the voters put together. A political party gets elected and when it does not do what it stated in its platform, it gets voted out of office and the people put in power the party that they threw out eight years before for failing to do what they promised. So you get a endless procession of failed parties. So, the politicians are used as a form of ‘blame game’. They do as their master requires, get thrown out, and accept the blame for not doing as promised. It is a blame-game.
As for movement, I am generally free to leave a country except the one that I ‘belong to’. I must have a valid passport. We assume the passport gives me the freedom to travel. I learned from a German after arriving in Berlin on the Trans-Siberian in the 1980’s in the days of the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie, that the passport is a hated document that is a ‘restriction’ on travel. My passport suggests that I can travel ‘without let or hindrance’, but that is anything but the case. The passport is a state issued document. I have two passports — UK and Australian. Actually, the UK is currently a pre-Brexit ‘European’ passport. So, I am only as free as the state allows me to be.
State is one of your key identifying features. One of the first things that you ask someone with a strange accent is: “Where you come from?” Their nationality is a legal relationship between this individual person and ‘their’ state. The passport is a comparatively modern invention. In times gone bye, there were no passports. Nowadays, depending on our country of origin or your citizenship, the passport may grant us a high level of movement freedom or extreme travel distress. Only nation-states have the right to issue passports. To enter another nation-state, I need to pay my government for a passport, then, obtain a visa for said country. On a train trip from Munich to Prague, the compartment was interested in my concept of ‘Round the world by train’. In the conversation, I was told that the people of the land through which we were traveling had traded and moved freely for centuries. Then, at the start of the ‘cold war’, a border was created separating the Capitalist ‘West’ from the Communist East. People could no longer trade even though they had done so for many centuries. They had no say in the matter. When a wall was put through the centre of Berlin, even families became split.
Nationalism and national identity are an ideological construct. They are enforced by the bureaucracy of the nation-state. Included in this system of nationhood are censuses, surveys, and identity documents. This bureaucracy then gets carried away with surveillance technology including photo identity and fingerprints. You will see internal identity checking with all those office workers with dog tags walking around town like zombies. Nightclubs seriously scrutinize and photo record all entrants. I sometimes joke: “You are only as free as a piece of paper.”
The format for the digital component of the nationally issued, but globally recognized, passport is dictated by an agency of the United Nations. The United Nations also issues its own Passport. So, the U.N. reinforces the concept that every person ‘belongs’ to a nation as well as suggesting that the United Nation is somehow above nations.The United Nations (U.N.), headquartered in New York, is an international organization of 193 member-states. It was founded in 1945 to ‘prevent’ another world war. It certainly has not been successful in preventing wars. The U.N. is not a government and has no right to make binding laws. Instead, it uses persuasion. The U.N. ‘committees’ negotiate ‘multilateral’ agreements that give more teeth to its policies. They form a body of ‘international law’. This is all a bit strange. ‘Multilateral’ seems to be defined as something that is:
agreed upon or participated in by three or more parties, especially the governments of different countries.
They then describe it as ‘International Law’. Yet no ‘International Law’ is binding on any country. But courts in countries tend to consider whether there is ‘any International Law’ that is relevant to a case.
These International organizations play a significant role in the formation of global policy. Senior positions in international institutions have become highly contested by governments. These senior officers tied to nations tend to blatantly act in the interests of their home countries. The United Nations ostensibly represents the shared interests of all countries. However, it was established by the victors of the Second World War with the aim of sustaining a form of ‘world order’. This is sizeable organisation. The U.N. has 37,500 total staff members as of December 2018.
…the top positions are dominated by rich democracies: the five most overrepresented countries in the Secretariat are Finland, Sweden, Norway, New Zealand, and Ireland. The United States is overrepresented, and China is significantly underrepresented.

A Japanese document explains it well:
The U.N. Charter envisaged the former as the primary function of the United Nations, and the latter was expected to play the role of creating a foundation of the former. ‘The major premise of the former function as an international collective security system was cooperation among the five permanent members of the Security Council which were major members of the Allied Powers in World War II, especially cooperation between the United States and the Soviet Union. However, this major premise collapsed from the outset of the United Nations, and the planned function was practically paralyzed because it became almost impossible for the Security Council to take compulsory sanctions because of the exercise of the veto power of the permanent members. As a result, the security of various countries of the world came to be determined outside of the United Nations mainly by the balance of military power among the major countries.

Effectively a war occurs within the United Nations as reported in a Japanese document of 1972 at the height of the ‘cold war’:
The influence of the United States, which was overwhelming in the United Nations in the past, has gradually declined because of the rise of the Third World. In recent years, it has become increasingly difficult for the United States to command a majority in the Security Council and the General Assembly, and, at times, even resolutions cosponsored by the United States and the Soviet Union have been defeated by the opposition of the nonaligned countries. The influence of the Soviet Union,. which has tried to promote a “diplomacy of the majority” favorable to its own interests by winning the support of the nonaligned countries on political problems which have a coloring of the East-West confrontation and are ideologically in opposition to the United States, is approaching its limits. This fact has become particularly clear as a result of the emergence of the People’s Republic of China as its opponent.

Just the mention of the ‘cold war’, where no bullets were fired, tells us that wars occur between countries without using guns. Thus, all these smiling faces around a table at the U.N. are seeking control and influence with strategic alliances, crafted words, and commandeering of key roles in the U.N. The same then applies to religions. Organised religion can work on its followers to act in a particular manner to modify a democracy or to subvert a foreign state.
In this comment from IndiaPunchLine.com shows that relationships between nations are complex: “The Turkish-Emirati relations have been very poor in the recent years following President Recep Erdogan’s accusation that the UAE had a hand in the 2016 failed coup attempt to overthrow him.”
In the old days, armies used to march on other countries and they still do. But other battles rage in diplomacy. Interfering in other country’s elections is fairly common. Diplomatic interference has the potential for significant disruption. Situations occur where diplomats have been accused of attempting to overthrow governments and of the use of bribes, threats, and blackmail. Sexually compromising the politicians of a host country is a tactic that Jewish Epstein was accused of. The international convention on diplomatic intercourse grants privileges and immunities with the stated aim of creating friendly relations among nations. However, it is an open door or a Trojan horse that allows ‘friendly’ enemies close access to all that is happening in a nation.
Democide is any murder by government of by officials acting under the authority of government. This then includes the burying alive of Chinese civilians by Japanese soldiers, the shooting of hostages by German soldiers, the starving to death of Ukrainians by communist cadre, and the burning alive of Japanese civilians purposely fire-bombed from the air by American airmen. However, it is not limited to murder of foreign subjects. The state may start to murder its domestic subjects. The Cambodian genocide (democide) was carried out by Khmer Rouge under the leadership of Pol Pot, whilst he was pushing Cambodia into communism. The movement resulted in the deaths of approximately 1.5 to 2 million people from 1975 to 1979. This was about a quarter of Cambodia’s 1975 population of 7.8 million. [3][4] If you study the history of democide and genocide. you will start to be anti-state. States can become heavy-handed and bloody minded. Prof. R. J. Rummel estimated that governments have murdered 262 million citizens in the twentieth century in mass killings he calls “democide”. He also writes: “This democide murdered 6 times more people than died in combat in all the foreign and internal wars of the century,” Totalitarian regimes stacked up the greatest body count. ‘Authoritarians’ added to the pile. Democracies also caused unjustifiable deaths, particularly whilst ‘subduing’ resistance in their colonial possessions. Examples include the Belgian Congo. Democracies also carried out indiscriminate bombing of civilian targets during wars. This includes Hiroshima and Dresden. Communists tend to be far worse than democracies. Professor Rummel puts it clearly in his 1997 book, Power Kills:
It is true that democratic freedom is an engine of national and individual wealth and prosperity. Hardly known, however, is that freedom also saves millions of lives from famine, disease, war, collective violence, and democide (genocide and mass murder). That is, the more freedom, the greater the human security and the less the violence. Conversely, the more power governments have, the more human insecurity and violence. In short: to our realization that power impoverishes we must also add that power kills.
Professor Rummel in his 1997 book, Power Kills: .
Democracies tend to be the least murderous type of control system. Authoritarian governments tend to by most active in slaughtering their people. Try to prevent government form having too much control, if you value the lives of your country folk and don’t wish to have your life ended in a ditch with a few thousand other innocent civilians. As your nation begins to resemble a ‘Police State’, the police will tend to think of you as ‘the enemy’ rather than as fellow citizens with ‘rights’. You will have reason to fear your government.
If you look at what a government does when it gets powerful, you become reminded that it is not a good idea to let the state expand into every nook and cranny of the citizen’s our lives. When given free reign, it imposes books full of regulations, which it enforces them with vast armies of goons. Its GDP includes bullets and prisons for those who resist. Later, it will stack the bodies high as it demonstrates its immense power.
