While it did not happen exactly like this commercial, it did happen. In the first year of the Great War, armies of the English, French and German laid down arms and sang, feasted and shared brotherhood instead of killing each other over no man’s land. Only men of like culture and heritage could accomplish this peace. The High Commands liked this not and had to both shell the new friends coming together and move armies to new locations along the front to prevent this peace.
After this truce, British and German generals had to replace the men because they refuse to fight each other again.

The real story is that a German came up first, Not the British, After they had to go back to there trenches they did not want to fight, So they were replaced by new soldiers. Its a truly sad ending, The Politicians made them fight.
