Paul Isaac Hershon (1818 – 1888) was a Spanish Jew who converted to Protestantism. In 1882 he published a book entitled: Treasures of the Talmud, Being a Series of Classified Subjects in Alphabetical Order From “A” to “L”. It reads:

“Or, says Tosephoth, it may be explained thus: He chose from his slaves only such as were Minim (heretics, presumably Christians), and it is not murder to kill such. Upon these comments we put no gloss—they speak for themselves.”

Concealment of the Genocidal Precept

Jews expend considerable effort to conceal their genocidal fundamentals. Consider this representative example from the online Davidson Talmud English edition.

You may already be familiar with the genocidal Talmudic imprecation: “Kill the best of the gentiles…” from Soferim 15(10).

Note the softened English translation of Soferim 15(10): “Kill the best of the heathens…”

What English speaker would bristle at killing “heathens”?

Here’s the rub. The word for “gentiles” is the same as the word for “heathens”: גויים (goyim). You can hear it properly pronounced here:

Now examine Soferim 15(10) in the online Davidson Talmud English translation. The Hebrew word for “gentiles” is substituted by the Hebrew word for “boys” but the printed word is not translated into English as ‘boys’ and the translation uses the muted “heathens” to avoid indicating that non-Jews (gentiles, goyim) are the ones to be killed.

A feature of the Sefaria website—you can click on a Hebrew word to obtain a pop-up definition. When you click on the word for “boys, sons,” you get this result:

Give us a break! The word for ‘boy, son” (singular ben, plural benim) is so common that it is used in names like David ben Gurion (an early Zionist terrorist), but Sefaria can find “no definition” for such a common word.

To be sure, there are rare instances of frank translations. For example, consider this discussion of Maimonides teaching on Soferim 15(10) in his Mishneh Torah. Chabad presented the discussion on their website, but, when it captured the attention of Gentiles, the page was deleted, archived only on screen captures.

Chabad is faithfully transmitting the authentic teaching of Soferim 15(10) in the Talmud as explained by Maimonides in his Mishneh Torah. The Davidson edition of the Talmud softens and conceals the teaching.

The Rabbis’ “Context” Deceit

“‘Context’ is everything for the defenders of the Talmud. Fair enough. But by ‘context’ they do not mean taking into account the surrounding text, but rather submitting to Judaism’s own narrative about itself, which includes how it presents problem texts to non-Judaic audiences…. The rabbis even deny in many cases that there is a plain meaning…. It is enough that [the rabbi] states it and gentiles believe it; anything else is ‘antisemitic.’ This pattern of intimidation and thought control is repeated with monotonous effect, by thought cops and apologists for Judaism. It is a stock response intended to frighten off the opposition, premised mainly on the moral authority of the declarative sentences used by the ‘expert’ on Judaism. Debate (‘polemic’) on the part of informed skeptics is not permitted, since it constitutes the ‘misuse’ of a scholar’s knowledge of rabbinic texts. Debating tactics and polemical tools are reserved solely for rabbis and their allies, along with just a dash of permissible dissimulation to leaven the burden of swallowing the pottage. “Kill even the best of the Gentiles” is not some discarded anachronism, but a contemporary Jewish imperative.

Mr. Gurvitz points out that exceptions to bigoted Talmudic injunctions are permitted where Judaics are in subjection to the goyim (gentiles), and where news of Judaism’s discrimination toward the goyim, would cause an uprising of “potential animosity” (mishum eivah) toward Judaics.

Therefore, to avoid a rebellion by the goyim if the truth were known, devious disavowals of the rabbinic law are made in public for the sake of pacifying (“mipnei darkhei shalom”) the gullible goyim.

Mr. Gurvitz asserts that where Judaic supremacy reigns supreme (“where ‘Israel’ is mighty”), as in the Israeli state, no such diplomatic niceties need be observed, and the full force of Talmudic/rabbinic halacha, with its institutionalized contempt for, and discrimination toward non-Judaics, can be fully exerted.
